Irish tech company Aspire bringing 150 jobs to Sandyford

12 May 2017

A major investment by Aspire Technology will see 150 new hires join the company, with an office expansion on the way.

Irish company Aspire Technology is on the hunt for new staff, from software development and network engineers, to design specialists and project managers.

This is to satisfy the IT firm’s latest recruitment drive, with a target of 150 new workers to double its total headcount.

As part of the expansion, the company will be adding to its existing Sandyford HQ, building a new “state-of-the-art network support centre”.

This as-yet-unbuilt facility will serve more than 16m mobile customers, with plans in place to grow to 50m customers in future.

Announcing the jobs, Bill Walsh, CEO and founder of Aspire Technology, said an increase in demand for his company’s products has led to this requirement for new staff.

“We are thrilled that we are doubling our team in 2017,” he said. “We have amazing opportunities for ambitious candidates who love working with people and technology.

“Our culture is built on developing and supporting our teams to deliver exceptional expertise to our international blue-chip customers.

“This culture is reflected in our high levels of employee satisfaction, and we are proud to be known in the industry as having an exceptionally high employee retention ratio.”

Aspire delivers “end-to-end network optimisation services and software solutions” to mobile operators and other companies.

Jobs boost for the capital

Dublin has seen a number of jobs announcements this month.

Globoforce’s Dublin headcount is set to soar, for example, with the technology company creating 100 new positions over the next three years.

Already employing 210 people in the capital, and 400 globally, Globoforce’s international growth has seen the company embark on a significant expansion.

With that, a new 45,000 sq ft Dublin HQ at Park West is making room for a three-year build-up of its workforce, with 50 roles out of a total 100 to be filled this year.

Elsewhere, SAP’s 150-strong recruitment drive will be split between Dublin and Galway, with CAE Parc Aviation sharing 80 new roles across Shannon and Dublin.

InfoHedge (20), a fintech firm, and EngageSmith (20), a training company specifically aimed at hiring millennials, are also hiring.

Meanwhile yesterday (11 May), cybersecurity company AlienVault moved offices in Cork, with up to 50 new “highly skilled” jobs to come.

The company’s Cork hub will now be its EMEA sales and technical support centre, with the hopes that an expanded workforce will help AlienVault maintain its place in the Deloitte ‘Technology Fast 500’ list for a sixth consecutive year.
