Clean Tech Company Receives Energy Boost

Enterprise Ireland client company Wattics has been named the Best Emerging Company at the 2012 InterTradeIreland (ITI) Seedcorn Business Competition.

The UCD-CLARITY spin-out, established in 2011, received an energy boost as it picked up a winner’s cheque for €50,000 at the awards ceremony in Belfast’s Titanic museum in November.

Wattics’ software connects to off-the-shelf smart meters and discreetly decodes energy patterns of individual electrical loads demonstrating energy savings for businesses.

Antonio Ruzzelli, CEO and Co-Founder of Wattics commenting on company growth and industry recognition said: “Our focus over the past 18 months has been to transform the company from a seed start-up into a significant commercial entity. We know the implications of Wattics solutions for energy saving and for appliance manufacturers globally are immense.  Future plans are now firmly focused on bigger market share and a massive growth to bring the company to €10M sales by 2015. The team is thrilled to have received this award, market validation and scalability for our product.”
