Showcasing Ireland’s strengths as a leading travel tech hub, Enterprise Ireland will tomorrow host its annual Travel Tech Summit ‘The Future of Travel’, at Hayfield Manor Cork. Over eighty executives from the Travel Tech industry will meet and hear from leading travel stakeholders including Jet Blue Technology Ventures, American Airlines, Lonely Planet, IAG (International Airlines Group), Radisson Hotel Group, Aer Lingus, IHG, as they share insights into the evolving travel market and how they are transforming to meet the needs of changing customer expectations. The Travel Tech Summit will cover topics including innovation, venture funding, loyalty and retention, technological advances shaping companies, customer experiences and expectations.

With over 100 travel tech companies in Ireland, employing over 3,500 people, Ireland has emerged as a leading travel tech hub producing global industry leaders such as CarTrawler, Datalex and OpenJaw. The annual Travel Tech Summit will showcase Ireland as leading travel tech hub that fosters innovation and is home to proven expertise and talent.

The Summit will also showcase a new wave of high performing Irish travel tech startups who will be pitching for the ‘Enterprise Ireland Pioneer Travel Tech Award’ which will be announced at the event on the 17th April. Companies pitching for this award include; Urban Fox, ServisBOT, Culture Mee, Moby, Travaplan and Meetings Booker. Last year’s winner, Campsited, just secured $500,000 in funding from Motley Fool Ventures.

Speaking ahead of the Travel Tech Summit, Máire P. Walsh, SVP Digital Technologies, Enterprise Ireland USA said “The travel industry is on course to significantly grow over the coming years due to emerging markets and a growing global middle class. Ireland with its thriving travel tech industry has great potential to capitalise on this by continuing to deliver new and innovative customer engagement products and services to meet evolving customer expectations. The Enterprise Ireland Travel Tech Summit brings together industry innovators and leaders looking to impact the future of travel technology.”
