IT’s Happening Here addresses the skill shortage using social media, advertising and other activities. Recent activities to promote tech career opportunities in Irish owned companies include creation of TechTown at Career Zoo, a Europe wide IT virtual fair and a workshop on job ad creation. These activities complement the IT’s Happening Here jobs board (www.itshappeninghere.ie) where candidates can apply directly for jobs or upload their CV, and is demonstrating a strong turnover of jobs.

This year IT’s Happening Here also introduced a company of the month campaign which focuses the spotlight on one star member company and their open positions for a full month. This month (September) it’s award-winning fintech company Fenergo, who develop worldclass software solutions for investment banks and capital market firms.

To join the current 46 members of IT’s Happening Here click on Post Jobs on the top right hand corner of www.itshappeninghere.ie or contact Gareth for more details (gareth.jordan@enterprise-ireland.com; 01-7272136). Companies in other sectors who have tech skills needs are also welcome to join!
