A total of 14 Irish companies, hosted by Enterprise Ireland, will attend the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona this week

The companies include six high-potential start-ups and eight established businesses.

The Barcelona event is the world's biggest gathering for the mobile industry. This year's event is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors representing mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world.

A number of Irish companies are due to make announcements at the Congress during the week. 

These include online safety technology company iKydz, who will unveil a new product tomorrow and mobility solutions provider Cubic Telecom will also be making an announcement during the week.

Enterprise Ireland client company Asavie are also due to announce a new partnership with Cork-based start-up Solo Energy.

The Irish companies attending the Barcelona Congress include Amiba, Area 22, Aspire Technology, Benetel, Cubic Telecom, Druid Software, Equiendo, Fijowave,  iKydz, Inhance Technology, Klas Telecom, MAdme, Software Radio Systems and Velona.
