Consulting Ireland launch new Cluster Programme in 'Winning Business Internationally'

Consulting Ireland, an Enterprise Ireland supported initiative, recently launched a new cluster programme designed to help and promote Irish busineses in winning international tenders. The 12 day programme, that runs over nine months, will equip participating companies with the practical know-how to succesfully access international markets.

Séamus McCann from Consulting Ireland lead a team of speakers at a recent event in Enterprise Ireland, the event outlined ways in which Irish companies can compete for new business across a range of international markets. The multi-billion euro opportunities in these markets, many funded by the interantional financial institutions, were explored and clearly explained.

Recent studies have shown that Ireland ranks well below its European counterparts in terms of winning such business, countries such as Denmark are now winning 10 times the business Ireland achieves.

"We are able to identify global business opportunities across all major sectors and to mentor companies to address the market, and help close the significant gap on European partner countries. The objective of Consulting Ireland is to develop a strategy to regain the status and share of these ever increasing market opportunities and help job creation for all sectors of the Irish economy. The development of these clusters must be kept part of our industrial strategy" says Séamus McCann, Chairman of Consulting Ireland.

Enterprise Ireland's CEO designate Julie Sinnamon added "Irish companies have demonstrated again and again that they can compete with the best in international markets and win businesss for Ireland. Enterprise Ireland client companies achieved record levels of exports in 2012, breaking the €16bn point for the first time. Consulting Ireland's Cluster Programme is about helping Irish companies maintain this momentum. By engaging in collaborative activities, companies can ultimately improve their own productivity and expertise, and operate more effectively to win increasing business".
