A new €0.5m fund has been established to support the growing number of start-ups focused on technology for the financial sector.

Enterprise Ireland's latest Competitive Start Fund will offer up to €50,000 in equity support to early stage Financial Technology companies.

It will also give companies access to support from industry experts and shared office space in Dublin city centre.

The new fund is part of the IFS2020 strategy, which aims to boost Ireland's global importance in the financial services industry.

The FinTech CSF is open to companies in payments, banking, RegTech, security, and InsurTech and FinTech solutions that leverage Blockchain, IoT, AI and Data Intelligence technology.

Start-ups will have two weeks to apply for the Enterprise Ireland support, starting on June 1.

"Ireland is recognised as a key hub for FinTech innovation and this new fund will make a real contribution to supporting more start-ups and ultimately more jobs in Ireland," commented the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O'Connor.
