North America is a booming market for Irish companies, Enterprise Ireland recently announced Irish exports to USA and Canada in 2011 grew by a remarkable 16.5% to just over US$2 Billion. Strong gains were recorded in the Lifesciences, Beverages, Financial Services, Telecommunications and Enterprise Software Sectors. This growth is continuing throughout 2012. There have also been a number of acquisitions of US companies of late by Irish companies including ICON, CRH, Greencore, Ardagh and NTR.
