In a world where the number of people over the age of 60 is expected to double to two billion by 2050, Dublin-based startup, Kinesis Health Technologies, has identified multi-million euro opportunities for technology which can be used to reduce the risk of falls in the elderly.

New innovators: SalesOptimize

SalesOptimize is a new B2B lead-generation and marketing search engine designed to help companies find retail contacts. Set up by PayPal’s former European head of telesales, Liz Fulham, and ecommerce industry veteran Colm Ahern, SalesOptimize soft-launched in February 2016.

ChangeX raises €350k in extended seed round

Social entrepreneurship platform ChangeX has raised €350,000 in an extended seed round, bringing the total funding raised to date to €850,000. The organisation, a service aimed at social entrepreneurs, has grown 49pc every month for the past year with 350 people starting ideas in their communities.

Three college lecturers are celebrating after their app idea to enroll and retain foreign students secured the Competitve Start Fund. StudyBundles is customised to each university or IT and aims to encourage international students to choose the college with which they have connected.

Ireland is predicted to be the fastest-growing economy in Europe this year according to new figures from the European Commission, with the EU’s executive arm expecting the economy to grow by 4.9 per cent this year.
