Twenty-two Enterprise Ireland clients are showcasing at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, representing Ireland’s strength in emerging technologies. Enterprise Ireland is hosting 13 of those cutting-edge Irish companies on its Irish Pavilion stand at the international conference in Barcelona, running from February 25th to 28th.

Mobile World Congress (MWC19) is the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry, showcasing the latest innovations and technologies from around the world.

A diverse range of Irish-developed pioneering technologies is being introduced at the Enterprise Ireland stand covering areas such as communications infrastructure, connected intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), cellular core applications, device diagnostics, content transfer, analytics, public safety, messaging solutions and artificial intelligence for network security.

At the event today, five Enterprise Ireland client companies announced major new partnerships:

Zyalin Group today announced that it has signed deals with five different providers across Japan, Ghana and Lebanon, opening up markets of 35.8 million customers. The company created the ground-breaking Internet control technology product suite, iKydz, to manage children’s online access and screen-time, and will also be launching iKydz Lite, a low-cost version of its internet safety tool.

Cubic Telecom announced a collaboration with Microsoft on the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform (MCVP) which will power next-generation, connected vehicles with advanced navigation, predictive maintenance and remote monitoring of car features hosted on Cubic’s global core network. The Dublin-based global connectivity platform company will also announce details of a partnership with ŠKODA Auto during the show.

Druid Software is planning several announcements during the congress including details a supply agreement, aimed at addressing the poor in-building mobile coverage and capacity experienced by occupiers of new ‘energy efficient’ buildings.

Openet announced a major partnership with Samsung around 5G core network solutions. Under this partnership, Samsung and Openet will cooperate to provide 5G network functions (NFs) in the packet core software solutions.

mAdme is showcasing its customer engagement platform which is used by mobile operators globally to communicate with their hundreds of millions of subscribers and are expected to announce a major new deal at the show.

Each of the companies will be showcasing the best aspects of Ireland’s mobile technology industry, which is held in high regard globally. I look forward to meeting the various representatives during the week and learning more about the valuable and creative solutions and products they’re providing to clients around the world. Together with Enterprise Ireland, the Government is committed to providing supports that help Irish companies to grow markets abroad, in turn allowing businesses to create and support jobs at home.”

Among the Enterprise Ireland companies exhibiting at the Ireland Pavilion are:

Zyalin Group’s IOT infrastructure gives parents complete control of what their children are doing online, whether a child is on Wi-Fi at home or out using a 3G/4G/5G network. The simple delivery solution allows customers to manage all of their children’s connected devices with just one app on their own phone. Children cannot remove or switch off the software once it has been set up.

Inhance Technology will be showcasing its pioneering remote diagnostic mobile application tool which allows users to determine the trade-in value of their phone without having to go to a phone store. The Cork headquartered company has seen significant traction in the Device Trade-In sector in the last 12 months alone and has successfully rolled out its products across Australia, Indonesia, Europe and North and South America. The trade-in sector has been earmarked by Apple as a growth sector in the coming years.

Cubic Telecom is a global connectivity platform company that offers mobility solutions that power connectivity for leading Internet of things (IoT), automotive, machine-to-machine (M2M) and mobile device companies across the globe. As an expert in Connected Intelligence, Cubic Telecom enables global scalability with local connectivity anytime, anywhere in over 100 countries.

Druid Software is a software development company providing virtualised mobile core network technology and solutions with a specific focus on business users. Druid supply 4G, 3G and 2G core and access network technology and components to Global System Integrators and Network Equipment Providers enabling them to deliver both stand alone and roaming mobile communications solutions tailored for business needs.

Decawave is a Dublin-based electronics company that has just unveiled its next-generation of ultra-wideband semi-conductor chips which will set the standard for the future of mobile security. Decawave makes UWB wireless technology that provides exact location and connectivity for applications to identify the precise location of an object or entity.
