The Innovation Arena Awards which are sponsored by Enterprise Ireland, Irish Farmers Journal and the National Ploughing Association reached a record level of interest this year with 195 applications. The total prize fund this year is in excess of €70,000 including a top prize worth over €15,000 to the most innovative start-up.

Kate (14) and Annie Madden (16) of FenuHealth won the prize by popular vote for their equine health supplements at the National Ploughing Championships. The Meath teenagers developed equine feed supplements from the herb fenugreek to prevent gastric ulcers in horses.
