Innovation awards: Orreco aims to bring elite sports science to the masses

The company now wants to extend elite athlete solutions to everyone by profiling a person's “biomarkers” in the blood and feeding this information into computer programmes that over time optimise training conditions for the individual.

US investor leads funding round for Limerick firm Teckro

Teckro, a Limerick-based life sciences technology company has raised $6m from a number of investors including a leading US technology investment fund.

The investment was led by Founders Fund as well as Enterprise Ireland and private investors. Teckro has now raised $7.8m to support its further development.

PayPal backs Irish startup Pulsate in funding round

Pulsate, the mobile marketing software company founded by Patrick Leddy, has closed a $1.5m (€1.34m) funding round with investment from seed-stage venture capital firm Dunnhumby Ventures, Enterprise Ireland and Delta Partners’ Bank of Ireland Seed Fund.
