13-year-old Waterford programmer delivers NY Apple Store keynote speech

One of Ireland’s youngest entrepreneurs – 13-year-old Jordan Casey – made the keynote speech at the Apple Store in Soho, New York recently as he launched two new apps.

The event was organised by the Irish International Business Network and was sponsored by Enterprise Ireland’s New York Office. The annual event aims to promote young entrepreneurship, and build contacts between US and Irish tech professionals.

Consulting Ireland, an Enterprise Ireland supported initiative, recently launched a new cluster programme designed to help and promote Irish busineses in winning international tenders. The 12 day programme, that runs over nine months, will equip participating companies with the practical know-how to succesfully access international markets.

Over 130 new jobs as three Irish food companies invest almost €9 million in major development programmes
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD recently announced that three Irish food companies will create 134 new jobs over the next three years in investment programmes totalling close to €9m supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through Enterprise Ireland.

Connecting local suppliers to opportunities in the construction sector

Over 400 people attended two information and networking sessions aimed at connecting local suppliers to opportunities in the construction sector under the Devolved Schools Programme. The events, hosted by the NDFA in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, provided a platform for local construction suppliers and enterprises to learn more about the schools building programme in their region and to meet with the five contractors who have been appointed to the Design & Build framework panel on the Devolved Schools Programme.
